This is fucking Dalston →
This is probably the best thing I have ever found about Dalston…..(click above)
Whoever made this, I love you.
It was a perfectly timed find as, only last week, I overheard the worst coversation I have ever heard in Dalston.
“You are only a real Dalstonite if you count everything after McDonalds as Dalston”.

Sharmadean Reid runs WAH Nails, a super cool nail salon in Dalston. We started following each other on Tumblr a few years ago. She’s now a proper superstar featuring in Levi’s craftwork campaign and collaborating with many artists. She’s a woman with guts and determination (and a recent mum-CONGRATS!).

Bootstrap Co roof terrace to reappear for summer
tropolis:
This Dalston based social enterprise is to reopen its brilliant roof terrace this month. If its created to even half the standard of last year’s efforts it’ll be worth a detour to catch one of their gigs or al fresco screenings. The bar will be open every afternoon from 4pm.

"The Shoreditch effect"
The East London Line has brought with it many advantages, but there is a real fear in the arts community that “the Shoreditch effect” is starting to take hold. Mass commercialisation, astronomical property prices and gentrification seems a very real prospect for the area.
It’s the end of the world as we know it (and I don’t feel fine).

Shhhhh! There's a new secret restaurant in Dalston

One year after the Dalston Mill, there is now the Dalston Barn sitting in the Eastern Curve Garden. They had a really good time building it with the people in Dalston. As of today the local community begins to manage the space for the next coming years. Please come for a farewell bbq at the barn …bring some drinks and some sausages … if you don’t have sausages .. bring your...
